Police charge South Boston man with fraud

A 48-year-old South Boston man faces a felony charge of fraud, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Russell Edward Jones of Bill Tuck Highway was charged with the alleged offense that occurred July 8, and Inv. T. A. Mocarsky served the warrant Wednesday.

Tobias Antwan Marable, 29, of Philpott Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery on a family member.

The alleged offense occurred July 9, and Deputy W. G. Yancey served the warrant Tuesday.

 George Myers Breedlove, 48, of Lower Liberty Road, Nathalie faces two misdemeanor charges of contempt of court.

The alleged offenses occurred July 9 and 10, and Mocarsky served the warrants Tuesday.

 Dakota Wayne Williams, 18, of Buckshoal Road, Virgilina faces a misdemeanor charge of making threats over the telephone.

The alleged offense occurred Tuesday, and Deputy W. G. Nunn served the warrant Wednesday.

 Draper Lamont Davis, 32, of Ball Park Loop, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offense occurred July 16, and Mocarsky served the warrant Wednesday.

 James E. Carrington, 28, of South Boston faces a charge of being drunk in public, according to South Boston Police Department Office reports.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Sgt. R. D. Edmonds served the warrant the same day.

 Larry D. Taylor Sr., 49, of South Boston faces a charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred Tuesday, and Cpl. J. C. Berry served the warrant that same day.

 Willie M. Kirby, 43, of Halifax faces a charge of defrauding, selling and failing to return rental property.

The alleged offense occurred April 13, and Officer J. J. George served the warrant Aug. 1.

 Jennifer M. Pumphrey, 23, of South Boston faces a charge of driving on a suspended license.

The alleged offense occurred Tuesday, and Cpl. M. W. Bowen served the warrant Wednesday.
