South Boston man faces drug charges

A 24-year-old South Boston man faces two felony charges including marijuana distribution and selling or distributing less than a half-ounce of marijuana, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Gregory Wendell Newman, 24, of Ferry Street, was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Oct. 23, 2010 and Sept. 9, 2010 respectively, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrants Thursday.

Christy Renee Brooks, 28, of Swain Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of trespassing.

The alleged offense occurred Tuesday, and Sgt. Clark served the warrant Thursday.

 Timothy Jermaine Clardy, 25, of Williams Trail, Halifax, faces a contempt of court charge.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Deputy W. G. Yancey served the warrant Thursday.

 April Nicole Reynolds, 26, of Henry’s Trail, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Thursday, and Cpl. C. S. Yeatts served the warrant the same day.
