Halifax woman faces larceny charge

A 29-year-old Halifax woman faces a felony charge of larceny for alleged credit card theft, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Mandy Leigh Hall Shelton of Cowford Road was charged with the alleged offense that occurred July 18, and Deputy T. B. Sargent served the warrant Sunday.

Jodie Lynn Russell, 24, of Philpott Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of trespassing.

The alleged offense occurred July 5, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrant Friday.

 Alicia Smith, 21, of McCulloch Lane, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Clarke served the warrant that same day.

 Justin Juwan Lacks, 29, of Piney Creek Road, Scottsburg faces misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, driving on a suspended or revoked license and refusing to take a blood or breath test.

The alleged offenses occurred Sunday, and Clarke served the warrants the same day.

 Shelton Jovan Obriant, 36, of Joe Jackson Trail, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Cpl. P.C. Clayton served the warrant the same day.

 Brancho Danquez White, 39, of Union Church Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public,

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Clarke served the warrant the same day.

 Christopher Allen Ferguson, 21, of Cody Road, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery on a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Sargent served the warrant the same day.

 Jeremy Lamar Majors, 24, of Turkey Track Lane, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Deputy S. Edmonds served the warrant the same day.

 Walter David Griffin, 49, of Morton Lane, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery on a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Aug. 3, and Deputy W. G. Nunn served the warrant Sunday.

 Fred Howard Tucker III, 18, of Dougs Trail, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of trespassing.  

The alleged offense occurred July 5, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrant Monday.

 In other reports:

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several mailbox vandalisms that occurred sometime Saturday night on Howard P. Anderson Highway between Halifax and Crystal Hill.

 According to Sheriff Fred Clark, it appears that someone pushed the mailboxes over with a vehicle. Some highway signs in the area also sustained damage, Clark said. 

Sgt. D. H. Barksdale and Cpl. C. S. Yeatts are investigating the vandalisms of mailboxes and highway signs.
