Police arrest shooting suspect in South Boston

Michael Jones, 32, of South Boston was arrested Tuesday on felony charges of malicious wounding, use of a firearm to commit malicious wounding and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to South Boston Police Office records.
The charges stem from a shooting that wounded 34-year-old Antonio Jones of South Boston outside of Fairmont Apartments between midnight and 1 a.m. Sunday, according to authorities.
Officer R. J. Meade served the warrant.
Michael Jones is currently being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond, police said.
Antonio Jones suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest and was airlifted to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond where he is being treated for his injuries.
