South Boston man faces perjury charge

A 33-year-old South Boston man faces a felony charge of perjury, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Kenneth Dale Wilborne Jr. of Old Cluster Springs Road was charged with falsely swearing an oath. The alleged offense occurred March 12, and Cpl. P. C. Clayton served the warrant Thursday.

  A 21-year-old South Boston man faces two felony capiases for forging and defrauding a public record and three misdemeanor capiases for idenity theft, driving on a suspended license and failure to surrender title and license plates to a vehicle, according to South Boston Police Office records.

Nathan V. Allen was served with indictments from the grand jury on the alleged offenses that occurred March 9.

Allen was released on $5,000 secured bond.

Officer T. W.  Bush served the capiases on Thursday.

  Markay Leigh, 29, of Halifax faces a felony charge for possession of controlled substances and misdemeanor charges of obstruction of justice and identity fraud.

The alleged offenses occurred Friday, and Officer J. George served the warrants Saturday. 

  Crystal D. Penzer, 25, of Scottsburg faces three misdemeanor counts of assault and battery.

The alleged offenses occurred Thursday, and Officer A. E. Whitmore served the warrants the same day.

Penzer was being held on a $1,000 unsecured bond.

  Dominique L. Ferrell, 25, of South Boston faces misdemeanor charges of trespassing at Fairmont Apartments.

The alleged offense occurred Thursday, and Cpl. M. W. Bowen served the warrant the same day.

Ferrell was being held on a $5,000 secured bond.

  Jessica M. Anderson of South Boston faces a misdemeanor probation violation.

The alleged parole violation was issued out of North Carolina Thursday, and officer T. W. Bush served the capias the same day.

Anderson is being held without bond.

  Jerry Martin Jr., 30, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault.

The alleged offense occurred Thursday, and Officer R. J. Mead served the warrant Friday. 

Martin is being held under a $2,500 unsecured bond.

  Rita Terry, 24, of  South Boston faces  a misdemeanor charge of assault.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Officer J. B. Throckmorton served the warrant the same day.  

Terry is being held on a $2,500 secured bond. 

  Malina Martin, 26, of Virgilina faces a misdemeanor charge of assault.

 The alleged offense occurred Thursday, and Mead served the warrant Saturday. 

Martin is being held on a $1,000 unsecured bond.

  Shonque Chandler, 26, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of probation violation.

The alleged offense occurred Nov. 2, 2011, and George served the warrant Sunday.

  Kevin Adams, 38, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault.

 The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Mead served the warrant the same day. 

Adams is being held on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

  Wanda Hilber, 38, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Mead served the warrant the same day. 

Hilber is being held on a $2,500 unsecured bond.
