South Boston resident charged with grand larceny

A 25-year-old South Boston resident faces a felony charge of grand larceny from a person, according to South Boston Police Office records.

Raashaun Newman was charged with the alleged offense that occurred Friday, and Cpl. T. B. White served the warrant Sunday.

Shameka P. Irby, 24, of South Boston faces a felony capias charge for shoplifting from Walmart.

The alleged offense occurred May 8, and Cpl. S. L. Song served the warrant Friday.

 Reginald D. Scott, 24, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana.

The alleged offense occurred May 5, and Officer A. E. Whitmore served the warrant Saturday.

 Shanel E. Scott, 24, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor capias charge of possession of marijuana.

The alleged offense occurred May 5, and Officer Song served the warrant Saturday.

 Rita R. Terry, 24, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor summons for trespassing at Willow Oaks Apartment.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Officer T.M. Carrington served the summons the same day.

Alexander Payne, 22, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and White served the warrant the same day.

 Jennifer Gardiner, 19, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Cpl. M. W. Bowen served the warrant the same day.

 Charles Glenn Cousins, 49, of Old Mill Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor contempt of court charge, and he was issued a misdemeanor surety capias, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

The alleged offenses occurred May 16 and July 6, and Deputy J. O. Tanner Jr. served the warrants Thursday.
