Wisconsin police apprehend Halifax rape suspect

Madison, Wis., authorities apprehended 29-year-old Ronald Lynn Lacks II on Wednesday evening, and he is being held in a Madison jail awaiting extradition to Halifax County.

Lacks, who has ties to both Halifax and Charlotte counties, is wanted for one count of rape and one count of abduction in the county, according to Halifax County Sheriff Fred Clark.

The charges here stem from an alleged incident that occurred during the early morning hours of June 30.

Clark said he was informed late Wednesday that Lacks had broken the law in Madison, and when authorities ran a check on him, they found he was wanted in Halifax County.

“He did something out there last night,” Clark said Thursday morning, however, the sheriff said he was unsure of the nature of the alleged offense.

Earlier this month, when county authorities were searching for Lacks, they described him as “dangerous.”
