South Boston man faces assault charge

An 18-year-old South Boston teen faces a felony charge of assault with the intent to maim and a misdemeanor charge of assault while being in a mob, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Trey Roberts of Bold Springs Road is charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Tuesday, and Deputy A. W. Britton served the warrants Thursday.

• Carmichael J. Howerton, 27, of Birch Elmo Road, South Boston faces a charge of possession of marijuana.

The alleged offense occurred Oct. 23, and Deputy T. B. Sargent served the warrant Thursday.

• Marcus Anthony White, 22, of Poplar Creek Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery on a family member.

The alleged offense occurred June 30, 2011, and Deputy W. G. Nunn served the warrant on Thursday.

• Betty Jean Adams, 53, of Buffalo Road, Clarksville faces a charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred Thursday, and Deputy C. S. Hudson served the warrant the same day.

• Irvin J. Williams, 61, of Summit Drive, South Boston faces charges of trespassing at Holiday Inn and failure to appear in court, according to South Boston police department.

The alleged offenses occurred Friday and June 25, and Officer A. Whitmore served the warrants Friday

• Laron Justin Watkins, 24, of College Street, South Boston faces a charge of being intoxicated in public.

 The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Officer T. W. Bush served the warrant the same day.

• Vakeesha L. Stovall, 25, of Berry Hill Road, South Boston faces a charge of shoplifting from Walmart.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Cpl. S. L. Song served the warrant the same day.

• Mildred Rodriguez, 28, of Virgie Cole Road, South Boston faces a charge of shoplifting from Wal-Mart.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Bush served the warrant the same day.

• Jerwanda D. Betts, 29, of Carrington Street, South Boston faces charges of shoplifting from Wal-Mart and being drunk in public.

The alleged offenses occurred Saturday, and Whitmore served the warrants the same day.
