Maryland woman faces embezzlement charge

A 59-year-old Pasadena, Md., woman faces two felony charges of embezzling over $200, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Beverly Kay Hill of Wendover Road was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred July 28, 2011, and Capt. D. E. Martin served the warrants Friday.

• Dick Melvin Walker Jr., 43, of L. P. Bailey Memorial Highway, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of violating a child protective order.

 The alleged offense occurred Thursday, and the warrant was served Friday.

• Shawn Gregory Venable, 57, of Woodbrook Avenue, Rustburg faces a misdemeanor charge of vandalism.

 The alleged offense occurred Jan. 27, and another law enforcement agency served the warrant Friday.

• Ira Junior Foster, 40, of Hunting Creek Road, Nathalie faces misdemeanor charges of vandalizing telephone equipment and assault and battery of a family member.

 The alleged offenses occurred Saturday, and Cpl. P. C. Clayton served the warrants the same day.

• Tiffany Powell Tuck, 31, of Merritt Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of possessing marijuana.

 The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrant the same day.

• Tonkanika Allison Ferrell, 42, of Carrington Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Clayton served the warrant the same day.

• Kevlin Lonell Palmer, 30, of Webster Street, South Boston faces misdemeanor charges of driving suspended after a DUI conviction and having a second DUI conviction within five years.

 The alleged offenses occurred Monday, and Deputy C. S. Hudson served the warrants the same day.

• Gregory Jerome Hamlett, 32, of Dudley Road, Halifax was issued a capias for violating his probation.

 The alleged offense occurred June 13, and Hamlett was served the warrant Monday.

• Ronnie Carson Beadles, 31, of Thorntons Road, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of vandalism.

The alleged offense occurred Jan. 27, and Cpl. C. S. Yeatts served the warrant Monday.

• Rickie Allen Bowman, 47, of Stith Lane, Clover faces two misdemeanor charges of possessing marijuana.

 The alleged offenses occurred July 15, 2011 and Aug. 23, 2011. Yeatts served the warrants Monday.

• A 30-year-old Virgilina woman faces a felony charge of failure to stop, eluding police, according to South Boston Police Office records.

Crystal L. Gordon also faces misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, driving on a suspended or revoked license and was issued a summons for failure to stop for a stop sign.

The alleged offenses occurred Monday, and Cpl. M. W. Bowen served the warrants on the same day.

Gordon is being held without bond.

• Terrence D. Jennings, 20, of Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of possessing marijuana.

The alleged offense occurred Thursday, and Officer R. J. Mead served the warrant the same day.

Jennings was released on summons.

• Margie M. Lester, 46, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of shoplifting from Food Lion.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Officer J. J. George served the warrant on the same day.

Lester was released on summons.
