South Boston man faces rape charges

A 39-year-old South Boston man faces two felony charges of second-degree rape, according to South Boston police records.

Hurley E. Crenshaw was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Sunday, and Officer T. M. Carrington served the warrant of arrest for extradition for these offenses issued by the Stokes County (N.C.) Sheriff’s Office Tuesday.

• Alexander L. Morton, 23, of South Hill faces a Felony charge of grand larceny.

 The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Officer T. W. Bush served the warrant obtained by a South Hill Police Department officer Tuesday.

• Rosalind D. Currie, 45, of South Boston faces a felony charge of grand larceny for stealing property (U. S. Currency) valued at over $5.00 from a person.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Cpl. J. C. Berry served the warrant Wednesday. Currie is currently being held on a $2500 secured bond.

• Deaundray O. Martin, 19, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of destruction of property valued at under $1,000.

 The alleged offense occurred Tuesday, and Cpl. S. L. Song served the warrant the same day.

• Mark A. Adkins, 42, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

The alleged offense occurred Wednesday, and Capt. B. K. Lovelace served the warrant the same day.

 •Lamont Bee Miller, 30, of Myrtle Street, South Boston faces a felony charge for a third offense of petty larceny, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reports. 

The alleged offense occurred Feb.23, and Deputy A.W. Britton served the warrant Wednesday.

• Travis Alastair Ragsdale, 23, of River Road, South Boston faces a felony charge of failing to appear in court and a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offenses occurred May 24 and 21. Deputy J. O Tanner Jr. served the warrants Tuesday.

• Jennifer Terifay Grove, 41, of Oak Level Road, South Boston faces misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, using a false identification or official license, driving with a suspended or revoked operator’s license and refusing to take a blood/breath test.

 The alleged offenses occurred Wednesday, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrants that same day.

• Johnny Roy Jones Jr., 42, of Ellyson Avenue, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court. 

 The alleged offense occurred May 24, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrant Wednesday.

• Kevin Lashon Stevens, 29, of LP Bailey Memorial Highway, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

 The alleged offense occurred May 9, and Cpl. P. C. Clayton served the warrant Wednesday.

• Joshua Ryan Newcomb, 25, of High View Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

 The alleged offense occurred Thursday, and Cpl. C. S. Yeatts served the warrant the same day.
