South Boston man faces drug charge

A 28-year-old South Boston man faces a felony charge of possessing a controlled substance, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Jeremy Deon Medley of Lomax Avenue was charged with the alleged offense that occurred April 4, and Deputy J. O. Tanner Jr. served the warrant Monday.

Davey Gene Comer, 42, of Lowery Road, South Boston, faces a felony charge  of being an habitual offender and a misdemeanor charge  of  drinking and driving.

The alleged offenses occurred Tuesday, and Sgt. T. C. Spencer served the warrant the same day.

 Wallace Linda Ross, 66, of Alton Post Office Road, Alton faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

 The alleged offense occurred May 15, and Lt. S. M. Cassada served the warrant Friday.

 Steven Walter Walker, 47, of Clarkton Road, Nathalie faces misdemeanor charges of refusing to a take a blood/breath test and driving under the influence.

 The alleged offenses occurred Friday, and Deputy C. S. Hudson served the warrants the same day.

  Andrew Alan Dease, 23, of Winns Creek Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

 The alleged offense occurred Feb. 27, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrant Sunday.

 Brian Ladale Womack, 27, of State Shed Road, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery. The alleged offense occurred May 14, and Deputy S. Edmonds served the warrant Monday.

 Fred Kent Bowes Jr., 54, of West Ridge Road, Danville faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

 The alleged offense occurred Thursday, and Capt. T. E. Logan served the warrant Monday.

w Quintara Janay Hicks, 22, of Spring Avenue, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

 The alleged offense occurred May 15, and Edmonds served the warrant Monday.

w  Michael Tyler Duffie, 19, of Mitchell Trail, Scottsburg faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

 The alleged offense occurred May 16, and Sgt. D. H. Barksdale served the warrant Monday. 

w County authorities are investigating a larceny that occurred sometime Sunday night in Halifax.

 According to Sheriff Fred Clark, someone stole two 3 1/2 horsepower push lawn mowers from the font porch of Chris Sydnor’s home on Crystal Hill Road. 

Sydnor was away from home when the theft occurred, Clark said. 

Cpl. C. S. Yeatts is investigating the theft of the mowers.
