South Boston police search for suspects in home invasion

South Boston police are searching for two black males who brandished firearms and kicked in the front door of a Norwood Avenue home late Monday night.

At 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the report of a home invasion in the 1700 block of Norwood Avenue.

According to South Boston Police Detective C. L. Carswell, the victims told officers two black males with guns kicked in the door and demanded money.

One male was described as tall, skinny, wearing black clothing and having braids pulled back into a ponytail.

The other male reportedly was wearing red shorts.

Both men had some type of clothing covering their faces to conceal their identities, Carswell said. The pair left the residence and ran north on Norwood Avenue.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the South Boston Police Department at 434-575-4273 or the Halifax County Crime Line at 434-476-8445.

Calling the Crime Line can lead to a reward of up to $1,000 for the arrest and conviction of the offenders, Carswell said.
