Nathalie woman facing assault, battery charge

A 30-year-old Nathalie woman faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Tameka Clark Vaden of Cornelias Lane was charged with the alleged offense that occurred Sunday, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrant Tuesday.

 In other police reports:

• Halifax Police are investigating the vandalism to the town pool off Cemetery Street that occurred last weekend.

According to Deputy T. H. Clarke, several umbrella weights, a lawn chair and Ph test strips were thrown into the pool, and a rope was cut.

Clarke said the offender used chalk to draw obscene phrases and pictures on the cement area surrounding the pool.

Clarke estimated total damages at $550.

Halifax police encourage anyone with information regarding this crime to call the Halifax Police Department at 476-2526 or the Halifax Crime line at 476-8445. 

A reward will be offered for information leading to arrest and conviction.

• The sheriff’s office is investigating a larceny that occurred sometime over the weekend in South Boston.

 According to Sheriff Fred Clark, someone stole the plates from a Chevrolet service truck belonging to Paul Mabe Plumbing and Electrical on James D. Hagood Highway. 

The tags are Virginia TX-42469.
