Virgilina man facing grand larceny charge

 

A 28-year-old Virgilina man faces a felony charge of grand larceny.

James Roach III of Tennessee Street was charged with the alleged offense that occurred Sept. 8 of last year, and Dep. T. B. Sargent served the warrant on Thursday, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

 

Kelvin Isaiah Boyd, 20, of Sinai Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred March 6, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrant on Thursday.

Janice A. Edmondson, 30, of Randolph Avenue, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Feb. 22, and Sargent served the warrant on Thursday.

In South Boston police reports:

A 29-year-old South Boston man was arrested on nine charges over the weekend.

On Friday, Lamont Bee Miller was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute an imitation Schedule I or II controlled substance.  The alleged offenses occurred Feb. 18, and Officer B. H. Smith served the warrants.

Smith also served a fourth warrant on Miller for possession with intent to distribute an imitation controlled substance Schedule I or II. That offense allegedly occurred Tuesday.

On Sunday Miller also was charged with two counts of trespassing at Valero Store on Wilborn Avenue, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute an imitation controlled substance Schedule I or II.

The alleged offenses occurred Tuesday and Friday, and Sgt. G. M. Gilliam served the warrants.

Officer J. B. Throckmorton also served a warrant on Miller Sunday for trespassing at Valero store on Wilborn Avenue.

The alleged offense occurred March 3.

Miller is currently being held on all nine charges at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.

Deron J. Traynham, 22, of South Boston was arrested and charged with assault and battery on Friday.

Traynham is currently being held at Blue Ridge Regional Jail under a $3,000 secure bond.

Darrius L. King, 19, of South Boston was arrested Saturday by Officer Throckmorton on a count of breaking and entering and two counts of grand larceny. The alleged offenses occurred July 1, 2011.

King is currently being held at Blue Ridge Regional Jail under a $2,500 secured bond.

Matthew M. Moore, 23, of South Boston was arrested by Officer R. J. Mead on Friday on one count of grand larceny.

The alleged offense occurred Feb. 16.

Moore was released from Blue Ridge Regional Jail on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

Davey G. Comer, 42, of South Boston was arrested by Officer R. L. Lawson on Friday for driving after being declared a habitual offender.

Bond was unknown at press time.

Sgt. Gilliam arrested Fredrick A. Quinn on Saturday for a felony third or subsequent offense of petit larceny.

Quinn was released from Blue Ridge Regional Jail the same day.

Sgt. Gilliam also arrested Brian D. Davis on Sunday for appearing in public in an intoxicated condition.

Davis was released from Blue Ridge Regional Jail on the same day.
