Maryland man faces extortion charge

A 40-year-old Hagerstown, Maryland, man faces a felony charge of threatening extortion and a misdemeanor charge of violating a juvenile protective order, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Thomas Michael Parkman, 40, of Little Elliott Drive was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Monday, and Inv. J. M. Burton served the warrants the same day.

Wayne Preston Coles, 44, of Cowford Road, Halifax faces a felony charge of being a habitual offender and misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and hit and run.

The alleged offenses occurred Jan. 5, and Deputy R. L. Compton served the warrants Sunday.

 Howard Melvin Easley, 45, of Halifax Road, Danville faces a felony charge of probation violation.

The alleged offense occurred April 23, and another agency served the warrant Saturday.

 Jennifer Lynn Beadles, 26, of Meadville Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery on a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Deputy S. Britton served the warrant the same day.

 Mark Dwayne Brown, 40, of Meadville Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery on a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Britton served the warrant the same day.

 Daniel Arthur Bunker, 28, of Ash Avenue, South Boston faces three misdemeanor charges of violating a protective order, misdemeanor charges of assault and battery on a family member and trespassing and was issued a misdemeanor capias for show cause.

The alleged offenses occurred Saturday, and Deputy P. C. Clayton and Deputy J. O. Tanner served the warrants the same day.

 William Lewis Wilborn, 74, of Boxwood Road, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of aggressive driving.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Deputy C. J. Yeatts served the warrant Sunday.

 Daniel Edward Evans, 34, of Wagstaff Lane, Scottsburg faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Tanner served the warrant Sunday.

 Paul Bryan Dease, 39, of John Henry Brown Road, Clover faces misdemeanor charges of assault and battery on a family member and vandalism.

The alleged offenses occurred Friday, and Deputy J. P. Adams served the warrants Sunday.

 Angela Scott Kilmon, 37, of Phillpott Road, Alton faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offense occurred Nov. 12, and Compton served the warrant Sunday.

 Tammy Delores Beadles, 25, of Maddox Road, Gladys faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Lt. M. A. Mocarsky served the warrant the same day.

 Marcus Lee Watson, 21, of Dryburg Road, Scottsburg faces a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Tanner served the warrant the same day.

 Clifton Louis Chappell, 20, of McKinney Street, South Boston faces charges of kidnapping and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Cpl. M. W. Bowen served the warrants Sunday, and Chappell was held on a $1,000 secured bond.

 Wendell Lee Adams, 22, of Nathalie Road, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of larceny for shoplifting.

Officer C. M. Mann served the warrant Friday, and Adams was released on a summons.

 James T. Halasz, 18, of Halifax Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of illegal possession of alcohol while being underage.

Officer C. M. Mann served the warrant Saturday, and Halasz was released on a summons.

 Tyree Kenneth Davis, 22, of Grove Avenue, South Boston faces charges of cursing and using abusive langauge and obstruction of justice by threat or force.

Officer F. A. Powell served the warrants Sunday.

 Paul Bryan Dease, 39, of John Henry Brown Road, Clover faces charges of trespassing and larceny for shoplifting. 

Officer C. L. Collie served the warrants Monday, and Dease was released on a summons.
