Distribution charge lodged

A 36-year-old South Boston man faces a felony charge of marijuana distribution, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Christopher D. Anderson of Newton Farm Road was charged with the offense that allegedly occurred July 4, and Lt. D. H. Barksdale served the warrant Thursday.

Jene Shontae Wimbush, 35, of Hackberry Road, Sutherlin faces a charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The offense allegedly occurred March 17, and Deputy R. L. Compton served the warrant Thursday.

 Glenn Harrison Spell, 47, of Chatham Road, Halifax faces a felony charge of felonious assault while applying pressure and a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The offenses allegedly occurred Monday, and Deputy J. D. Tucker served the warrants Friday.

 Crystal Lee Smith Powell, 33, of Clarkton Road, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

The offense allegedly occurred May 21, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrant Thursday.

 Ricky Nelson Moorman, 45, of Lennig Road, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of petty larceny.

The offense allegedly occurred Dec. 31, and Compton served the warrant Thursday.

 Kenneth Dale Wilborne Jr., 35, of Old Cluster Springs Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana.

The offense allegedly occurred Aug. 22, and Compton served the warrant Thursday.

 A 31-year-old Nathalie woman faces a larceny charge for shoplifting, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Stephanie Smith Traynham of Morton’s Ferry Road was charged with the offense Thursday by Cpl. J. C. Berry.

Traynham was released on a summons.

 Danyell Rochelle Smith, 40, of Crystal Springs Drive, Timberlake, North Carolina, faces a charge of larceny for shoplifting.

Berry served the warrant Thursday, and Smith was released on a summons.

 Jasmine Nicole Suiter, 24, of Antrim Drive, Newport News faces two charges for making threats over the telephone.

Another agency served the warrants Thursday for Officer C. L. Collie.

 Bernie Blanding Jr., 54, of South Boston faces a charge of grand larceny for theft of a motor vehicle.

The offense allegedly occurred March 24, and Cpl. M. W. Bowen served the warrant Friday. 

Blanding is being held with no bond in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.

 Justin James Broxton, 19, of South Boston faces a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The offense allegedly occurred June 18, and Bowen served the warrant Friday. 

Broxton was held on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

 Floyd Wayne Roberson, 55, of Bracey faces a charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The offense allegedly occurred Monday, and a protective order was served.

Officer T. D. Clay served the warrant Tuesday, and Roberson was held on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

 Blaine Key, 25, of South Boston faces a charge of assault and battery.

The offense allegedly occurred on Friday, and Officer T. W. Bush served the warrant the same day.

Key was held on a $1,000 unsecured bond.

 Michael J. Johnson, 27, of Alton faces a charge of driving on a suspended license, second offense.

The offense allegedly occurred Saturday, and Bowen served the warrant.

Johnson was released on a summons.

 Eric Mitchell Horton, 20, of Danville faces a charge of driving on a suspended license, second offense.

The offense allegedly occurred Saturday, and Bush served the warrant. 

Horton was released on a summons.
