Man pleads guilty to malicious wounding

A 21-year-old South Boston man, Darshae Bilile Lee, pleaded guilty Monday in Halifax County Circuit Court to a charge of malicious wounding in addition to a pair of other related felonies.

Lee pleaded guilty to the malicious wounding of Stefon Canada, a charge for conspiracy to commit malicious wounding and a charge for grand larceny from a person.

Pursuant to a plea agreement with the commonwealth, 18 additional charges against the defendant were nol prossed, including six for use of a firearm in the commission of a felony; three for conspiring to commit robbery; two for conspiracy to commit malicious wounding; two for attempted malicious wounding; one each for attempted robbery and robbery; and three for brandishing a firearm (misdemeanor).

The commonwealth also moved to nol pros a charge against the defendant for failing to appear in court. 

Sentencing for Lee was continued to a date in the July court term.
