South Boston woman faces burglary, robbery charges

A 30-year-old South Boston woman faces two felony charges, robbery and attempts and burglary with common law/intent, and a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery, according to Halifax County Sheriff Office records. 

Lashay Charice Carr was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Jan. 25, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrants. 

 Alvesta Young, 66, of Riverdale Drive, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice by threat with no force. 

The alleged offense occurred Thursday, and Clarke served the warrant the same day. 

 A 19-year-old South Boston woman faces a charge of assault and battery, according to South Boston Police Department records. 

Ravyn Denaysia Roberts of Old Grubby Road was charged with the alleged offense, and Sgt. G. M. Gilliam served the warrant Thursday. 

 Dashaun Kimone Clarke, 22, of Lawndale Drive, Greensboro, N.C. faces a charge of assault and battery. 

Gilliam served the warrant Thursday. 

 Alex Charles Smith, 49, of River Road, South Boston was charged with being a habitual offender. 

Gilliam served the warrant Thursday.

 David Anthony Rose, 57, of South Boston was charged with DWI first offense, refusal of blood/breath test first offense, attempted petit larceny, intentional damage property of less than $1,000 and felony possession of burglarious tools. 

Senior Patrol Officer C. M. Mann served the warrants Sunday.

 William Edgar Worley Jr., 21, of South Boston was charged with shoplifting from Wal-Mart Friday. 

Officer T. W. Bush served the warrant, and Worley was released on a summons.

 Timothy Orion Desmond, 19, of Nathalie was charged with shoplifting from Walmart Friday. 

Bush served the warrant, and Desmond was released on a summons. 

 Cecil L. Johnson, 44, of Altavista was charged with being drunk in public Saturday. 

Officer T. D. Clay served the warrant, and Johnson was held in Blue Ridge Regional Jail until sober. 

 Joseph Cleveland Whittington III, 30, of South Boston was charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license Friday. 

Clay served the warrant, and Whittington was released on a summons. 

 Daniel Wayne Short, 28, of Halifax was charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license and possessing a scanner radio while committing a misdemeanor crime after being a convicted felon Saturday. 

Cpl. M. W. Brown served the warrant, and Short was released on a summons. 

 Weston Clay Clark, 28, of Mississippi was charged with driving without a valid operator’s license Saturday.  

Sgt. S. L. Warf served the warrant, and Clark was released on a summons.
