Ms. Nancy Culley Morgan Matthews of 2100 Sandy Beach Road, South Boston died on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at the age of 74.
She was born on Sept. 6, 1939 to the late John Lenord Culley and the late Annie Russell Culley, and she was engaged to Kenneth Martin.
In addition to her fiancé, Ms. Matthews is survived by three daughters, Debra Morgan Matthews of Halifax, Nona Hite and husband Riley of South Boston and Jo M. Francis and husband John of Halifax; one son, Jason Morgan, of South Boston; one brother, Larry Culley, and wife Dianne of South Boston; four sisters, Sharon C. Church and husband Clyde of Halifax, Lena Yancey of Henderson, N.C., Ethel C. Everhart and husband Ken of Scottsburg and Iris Redd of Clover; a sister-in-law, Cathryn Culley, of Scottsburg; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elson T. Matthews; a great-granddaughter, Maci Joy Smith; a grandson, Adam Morgan; a son-in-law, Glenn S. Matthews; and two brothers, Wayne and Jimmy Culley.
A celebration of life for Ms. Nancy Culley Morgan Matthews will be held Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Clover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Monday evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m., and at other times at her home.
