Junior Honor Society Inducts 47

A total of 47 students were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society at Halifax County Middle School on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Mom Looks Back At Soldier's Life

Pfc. Richard Kelvin “Richie” Jones, U.S. Army, was killed in action in Afghanistan on August 1. “He was my pride and joy,” said Franceen Jones, looking back on the life of her son. “Even as a kid, every day was an adventure to Richie.”

VEC, Libraries Joining Forces

A new agreement between the local Virginia Employment Commission and the Halifax County-South Boston Regional Library allows VEC staff to be located at local public libraries four days per week, the library system announced Friday.
