The Halifax County Registrar’s Office will be open Saturday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. so that registered voters who are unable to go to the polls to vote in the Nov. 3 General Election due to health or being out of town on business or school, may vote by absentee ballot, announced Halifax County Registrar Judy R. Meeler. The registrar’s normal working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m.
The last day that an absentee ballot can be mailed for registrants in need is Tuesday, Oct. 27, according to Meeler. Oct. 31 is the last day that in person absentee voting can be done.
The registrar said persons who have Internet access can enter http://www.sbe.state.va.us/ and locate their polling place for Election Day, she added. Persons also may call 476-3322 for information on their polling place.
