Agritourism Workshop Set For Interested Entrepreneurs

Farmers who may be considering adding excitement to their farm, tourists to their fields and hopefully more money to their bottom line by incorporating agritourism into their farming operation should attend Agritourism: It’s More Than a Farm Tour . . . Act III to discover new ideas to enhance a farming facility. Scheduled for Charlotte County on Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Kenbridge Center located at 511 East Fifth Ave., Kenbridge, the program will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m.

Presented by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), Virginia Tourism Corporation, and Virginia Cooperative Extension in partnership with the Lunenburg office of Economic Development, Agritourism: It’s More Than a Farm Tour . . .Act III will offer a broad overview of agritourism possibilities as well as the need-to-know details. 

Topics will include an overview of Virginia’s agritourism/agritainment, an overview of agritourism liability issues, strategies for marketing the agritourism operation, connecting Virginia’s Standards of Learning to agritourism functions, and delivering exceptional customer service whether it’s face-to-face or electronically.
The workshop is free, but interested persons must register by Monday, Oct. 26.
