Convergence Art Guild "Film Odyssey" Continues Friday

The third film in Convergence Art Guild's popular ongoing "Film Odyssey" series will be presented Friday. All the selections for this month honor Halloween. Friday's entry will be the little-seen cult favorite "The Fearless Vampire Killers,” or “Pardon Me But Your Teeth Are In My Neck" (1967). An elegantly stylish black comedy, it stars Roman Polanski, Sharon Tate, Fiona Lewis and Ferdie Mayne as the titular vampire.

Jack MacGowran and Polanski star as a pair of inept but sincere vampire killers. Called upon to rescue the beautiful daughter of an innkeeper from a Dracula-like monster, the unlikely heroes muddle through a series of slapstick — and sometimes hair-raising — adventures.

Both scary and funny, the film includes wonderful performances, luscious photography, the famous "vampire ball" scene and a memorable score.

Film Program Director Woodson Hughes will introduce the movie.

Showtime begins at 8 p.m. The film program is free, but donations are always welcome.

Convergence Art Guild is located at 99 South Main Street, Halifax.
