The American Red Cross is asking area residents to give the gift of life with two bloodmobiles slated next week.
At the present time, all tyes are below the optimal safe supply level of five days and types A+, 0- and B- are all below a three-day supply level, according to a news release.
From 1 to 7 p.m. Monday, Bohler-Uddeholm Specialty Metals Inc. of South Boston will sponsor the American Red Cross Bloodmobile located at the American Legion, Post 8 on Jeffress Boulevard, South Boston. Monday's goal is 50 units.
From noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, the American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be set up at the Mary Bethune Gym in Halifax, sponsored by Union Ruritan Club, Hunt's Corner and McDannald's Construction. The goal is 45 units.
