Beulah Road home destroyed in blaze

A Nathalie man was left homeless Monday morning after an early morning blaze destroyed his single story house located at 1086 Beulah Road.

 According to Liberty Volunteer Fire Department Chief Andy Hughes, Ralph Logan was not injured in the fire that is believed to have started in the kitchen around 8:10 a.m.

When Liberty Fire Department volunteers arrived on the scene, “flames and smoke were coming from the eves of the house,” Hughes said. 

Logan had escaped safely from the fully involved house.

Assisting Liberty volunteers bring the fire under control were 15 firefighters from North Halifax Volunteer Fire Department who responded with six trucks, two firefighters from Triangle Fire Department responding with one truck, Oak Level firefighters responding with one truck, and three Riceville-Java Fire Department volunteers responding with two trucks.

According to Hughes, no one was injured while bringing the blaze under control.

Less than 1,500 gallons of water was used to extinguish the blaze.
