Nathalie man faces drunk in public charge

A 25-year-old Nathalie man faces a misdemeanor charge of drunk in public, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Jason Matthew Smith of Beulah Road was charged with the alleged offense that occurred Friday, and Deputy S. Britton served the warrant the same day.

Michael Alan St. John, 47, of Lynchburg Avenue, Brookneal faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred July 29, and Sgt. T. C. Spencer served the warrant Thursday. 

 Sometime over the past few days, someone stole a GLOCK mo. 23, .40-caliber pistol from the residence of Malcolm Glass, who lives on South Terry’s Bridge Road near Scottsburg, according to Sheriff Fred Clark.

Major Steve Cassada is the investigating officer.

 Mandy Shelton, 29, of Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear, according to South Boston Police Office records. 

The alleged offense occurred Thursday and Officer C. Collie served the warrant Friday.
