Halifax County officials search for license plate thief

Sometime this past Saturday night, someone stole both license plates from Kenneth Womack’s Ford while it was parked in his driveway on Chatham Road in Halifax, according to Halifax County Sheriff Fred Clark. The plates are Virginia ZJM-1806, and Dep. J. O. Tanner is investigating the theft.

In other county sheriff’s office reports:

• Kelvin Wise Stovall, 22, of Ridge Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of distributing less than one-half ounce of marijuana with intent to sell.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Dep. C. S. Hudson served the warrant Saturday.

• Andrea Daun Wilson, 21, of Hudson Road, Virgilina faces a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny of less than $200.

The alleged offense occurred Jan. 30, and Dep. T. B. Sargent served the warrant Sunday.

• Jerry N. Saunders, 57, of McKinney Street, South Boston faces two misdemeanor charges of assault and battery.

The alleged offenses occurred between Thursday and Sunday, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrants Sunday.

• Amy Elliott Zimmerman, 45, of Virgilina Road, Virgilina faces a misdemeanor charge of damaging a windshield valued at less than $1,000.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Tanner served the warrant Sunday.

• Quinn Theadon Tucker, 25, of Ballpark Loop, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Cpl. C. S. Yeatts served the warrant the same day.

• Bailey Lacks Cassada, 20, of Howard P. Anderson Road, Crystal Hill faces a misdemeanor charge of purchasing or possessing an alcoholic beverage by a person less than 21.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Tanner served the summons Saturday.

• William Worley, 18, of Black Walnut Church Road, Alton faces two misdemeanor charges of failing to obey a law enforcement officer’s signals and disregarding a law enforcement command by continuing to drive.

The alleged offenses occurred Friday, and Clark served the summons the same day.

• Terance Dion Jones, 24, of Bagwell Drive, Scottsburg faces a charge of failure to appear in court.

The alleged offense occurred Feb. 6, and Clark served a capias Friday.

• Ashley Nicole Scarbrough, 26, of Sinai Road, South Boston faces a charge of failure to appear in court.

The alleged offense occurred Jan. 26, and Tanner served the capias Saturday.

• Darryl K. Watts, 53, of MacDonald Road, Scottsburg faces a charge of failure to appear in court.

The alleged offense occurred Jan. 9, and Clark served the capias Sunday.

• Gregory Jerome Hamlett, 32, of Dudley Road, Halifax faces a charge of failure to appear in court.

The alleged offense occurred Feb. 8, and Clark served the capias Sunday.

• Derek Wayne Davis, 24, of Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of violating a provision of a protective order, second/subsequent offense.

Halifax Police Officer W. R. Wilmoth served the warrant Monday.

• Also on Monday around 7 p.m., a white man operating a blue Ford SUV with North Carolina registration left Wilco-Hess in Halifax without paying for $13 in gas.
