At the start of Tuesday night’s Halifax Town Council meeting, Councilman Bill Confroy publicly apologized to Gazette-Virginian Staff Writer Danielle Vaughn for remarks he made at a Feb. 8 work session concerning “misinformation” he said she had reported concerning council’s remarks about the Halifax Police Department. “Danielle, I want to apologize to you for my remarks at the last meeting in that I did not have my facts straight. You had yours straight,” Confroy said.
Confroy then proceeded to quote a piece of the prayer of Mary Queen of Scots.
Vaughn told Confroy she accepted his apology and has put the incident behind her.
