Halifax man faces perjury charge

A 28-year-old Halifax man faces a felony charge of perjury.

Leaveil Jamal Terry of Bethel Road was charged Monday for the alleged offense that occurred Friday, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Deputy J. P. Adams served the warrant.

• John Tyrone Jones, 39, of Sandy Beach Road, South Boston faces a felony charge of pretrial service bail violation.

The alleged offense occurred Jan. 12, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrant Friday.

• Charles Edward Williams, 39, of Hundley Road, Scottsburg faces a felony charge of third offense petty larceny and a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offenses occurred Sunday, and Lt. S. M. Bowen served the warrants the same day.

• Deanta Tucker, 19, of Grubby Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear in court.

The alleged offense occurred Jan. 17, and Clark served the warrant Saturday.

• Samuel Heath Fears, 23, of Coles Ferry Road, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Clark served the warrant Sunday.

• Jaysen Lee Grove, 29, of Clarkton Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor petty larceny charge.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Clark served the warrant Sunday.

• Cynthia Marie Wilkinson, 39, of Philpott Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Cpl. C. S. Yeatts served the warrant the same day.

• Christine Burch Privette, 48, of River Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrant the same day.

• Deontae L. Traynham, 28, of Thompson Store Road, Vernon Hill faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offense occurred Oct. 14, and Adams served the warrant Tuesday.
