Halifax woman faces felony drug charges

An 18-year-old Halifax woman is facing two felony drug charges and a misdemeanor larceny charge, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Madelon Melane Powell of Clays Mill Road was charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance. She also was charged with one count of misdemeanor petty larceny.

The offenses allegedly occurred Friday, and Deputy J. O. Tanner served the warrants Sunday.

• Jerry Dwayne Walker, 46, Burton Street, Danville, was charged with felony grand larceny.

The offense allegedly occurred Feb. 8, and another law enforcement agency served the warrant Sunday.

• Tiffany Ann Honaker Lester, 24, Wickliffe Road, Brookneal, was charged with felony perjury.

The offense allegedly occurred Jan. 25, and Deputy S. Edmonds served the warrant Sunday.

• Gilberto Alvarez, 27, Mountain Road, Vernon Hill, was charged with felony credit card theft.

The offense allegedly occurred Jan. 15, and Deputy W. G. Yancey served the warrant Monday.

• Melquan Rashaun Carr, 21, Drive In Road, Nathalie, was charged with felony vandalism.

Deputy T. B. Sargent served the warrant Friday.

•  Darrin Lee Satterfield, 23, Jeffress Street, South Boston, was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

The offense allegedly occurred Jan. 17, and Cpl. C. S. Yeatts served the warrant Friday.

• James Edward Boyd, 34, and Shenetta Guy, 33, both of Peartree Lane, Nathalie, were charged with one count each of misdemeanor threatening bodily harm.

Both offenses allegedly occurred Sunday, and Deputy C. S. Hudson served the warrants Monday.

• Darrell Dwayne Smith, 31, South Gayle Street, Clover, was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery of a family or household member.

The offense allegedly occurred Sunday, and Deputy Hudson served the warrant Monday.

• James Wayne Andrews, 70, Halifax, was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery.

The offense allegedly occurred Sunday, and Investigator C. J. Yeatts served the warrant Monday.

• Margaret Walker Fears, 69, Coles Ferry Road, Nathalie, was charged with misdemeanor breach of the peace.

The offense allegedly occurred March 15, and Deputy Edmonds served the warrant Saturday.

• Rayshawn Wendell Womack, 38, Westside Drive, South Boston, was charged with misdemeanor DUI.

The offense allegedly occurred Saturday, and Lt. S. M. Bowen served the warrant the same day.

•  Alberto G. Hernandez, 33, Park Springs Road, Providence, was charged with misdemeanor DUI.

The offense allegedly occurred Friday, and Lt. Bowen served the warrant Saturday.

• Robert Daniel Cole, 27, Lowery Road, South Boston, was charged with misdemeanor failure to yield the right of way.

The offense allegedly occurred March 2, and Deputy Yancey served the warrant Monday.

•  Arthur Edmunds, 55, Goodes Road, Sutherlin, was charged with misdemeanor failure to appear in court.

The offense allegedly occurred March 7, and Deputy Sargent served the warrant Saturday.

•  In other law enforcement matters, Halifax County Crime Line is seeking information regarding a stolen vehicle.

A white Chevrolet four-door long bed two-wheel drive pickup truck with an air compressor and fuel tank in the back was stolen from the lot of H&M Logging Co. on Sinai Road Feb. 28.

The truck was found next to a vacant home on Paradise Road on March 7.

The caller may receive a reward of up to $1,000, and all information given is on an anonymous basis, Crime Line officials said.
