No arrests have been made in an early Saturday morning shooting in South Boston, but town police continue to follow up leads in the case.
According to South Boston Police Investigator R. E. Redd, town police officers along with county deputies responded to Parker Avenue at 2:17 a.m. Saturday for a report of shots fired.
Officers arrived and found a 21-year-old male lying in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Redd said.
Halifax County Rescue Squad transported the male subject, who authorities have declined to identify at this time, to Halifax Regional Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Redd said the victim was then transported to Duke Medical Center for further treatment.
“Investigators have been following up on leads in this case, but no arrests have been made,” Redd said Sunday.
