It felt a lot like Christmas Saturday evening as a snow gently fell throughout the annual South Boston Christmas Parade that got under way at 5 p.m.
“The snow that started early afternoon added to the holiday spirit of the annual parade,” said Destination Downtown South Boston’s Parade Coordinator Sara Davis.
“A large crowd enjoyed gathering in the falling snow to watch the parade,” Davis said.
“Santa arrived Saturday evening along with some attention-getting animals, snow, excited kids and a big crowd,” she added.
Hannah and Erin Glass led the parade carrying the South Boston Christmas Parade banner, and Santa capped off the parade in a forestry bulldozer in which the late forest technician Alex Williamson spent countless hours.
Williamson’s family served as grand marshal for this year’s Christmas parade.
