Recycling workshop to be held Saturday at Four Forks

The Halifax County Improvement Council invites residents to stop by the new Four Forks Recycling and Collection Center site on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon for an informational workshop on recycling.

The public is asked to bring recyclables (newspaper, mixed paper, cardboard, No. 1 and No. 2 plastics, metal cans and aluminum cans and glass) from 9 a.m. to noon and find out how to recycle them and the right way to do it, according to Halifax County Improvement Council Recycling and Litter Control Director Jennifer Hochstein.

Attendants as well as Improvement Council and county representatives will be present to answer questions.

Visitors will be assisted in sorting their recyclables, and the first six recycling patrons will receive a free gift for participating in the workshop and spreading the word about the importance of recycling throughout the county, Hochstein said.

The Four Forks Recycling and Collection Center is located at 1051 Drive In Road at the intersection of 501 North and Route 40 (behind the Four Forks General Store).

Call Hochstein at 434-222-9448 with any questions.
