Halifax man faces charge stemming from break-in

Authorities arrested Lamarr A. Bowman of Clays Mill Road following a break-in at Three Forks Grocery, according to Sheriff Stanley Noblin.

An alarm came in to the 911 center from Three Forks Grocery on Bethel Road just out of Halifax at 3:46 a.m. Friday, the sheriff said.

Deputies Joey Adams and Chuck Bates responded and found a side window broken at the store, Noblin said.
After checking the surrounding area of the store property, the sheriff said deputies found several frost-covered vehicles that had been left parked on the store lot.

Bowman, who was wearing some of the items reportedly taken from the store during the break-in, was found hiding in one of the vehicles, Noblin said. The Halifax man was subsequently charged in the break-in.
