The annual Veterans Day Parade took place in downtown South Boston on Saturday.
The American Legion Post 8 Honor Guard lead the procession down Main Street toward Constitution Square.
Guest speaker Tommy Hines, past VFW State Commander, told the gathering at Constitution Square that it’s important for communities not to forget the veterans who live amongst us.
“A lot of people, particularly young people, don’t realize the freedoms they enjoy are due to our active military men and women who are serving now to protect our way of life,” Hines said in his remarks.
