The South Boston IDA came out of closed session Thursday and approved a purchase price for a potential prospect for a lot located in the Houghton Industrial Park. On a motion by Jim Burton and seconded by Larry Harris, the IDA set a purchase price for Lot J-3 at $14,500 per acre for Project Water-Prospect 2010B, according to IDA Executive Director Ted Daniel.
The motion passed unanimously, with board members Tommy Elliott, Frank Lee, Burton, Mark Foster and Wanda Blythe voting aye.
Ronnie Crabtree was absent.
IDA members also approved a reconfiguration of the lot after emerging from the closed session.
On a motion by Lee and seconded by Harris, the IDA approved the reconfiguration survey of Lot J-3, dated Aug. 25 by B&B Consultants for recordation and approval by the Town of South Boston subdivision agent.
That motion also passed unanimously, with board members Elliott, Lee, Burton, Foster and Blythe voting aye.
Crabtree was absent.
Lot J-3 is located between Blue Ridge Beverage and the Day Complex in Houghton Industrial Park, according to Daniel.
“We’ve been working with a prospect on Lot J-3, and we had to establish a price for the lot, which the IDA set at $14,500 an acre,” said Daniel.
“We needed to realign some property lines, so they approved a reconfiguration survey as well, so we’ll continue to work with that prospect and hopefully see somebody coming to the park in the near future.”
