Deputies Investigate Weekend Break-In

Halifax County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a break-in over the weekend at a South Boston residence, according to Sheriff Stanley Noblin. Deputy W. G. Nunn was called to the Old Cluster Springs Road home of Chester Arthur Sunday morning for a reported break-in. Arthur said someone had broken into his residence and had stolen three handguns, Noblin said.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 434-476-3334.

In other law enforcement matters, a 19-year-old Halifax man is facing two felony charges and two misdemeanor charges, according to sheriff’s office records.

• Edward Dante Younger of Ball Park Loop was charged with felony burglary-entering a dwelling or house with intent to commit larceny, assault and battery or other felony. He also was charged with felony grand larceny, misdemeanor vandalism-damaging property belonging to another and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The offenses allegedly occurred Thursday, and Deputy J. M. Burton served the warrants Monday.

• Antone Lemont Hamlett, 27, Myrtle Street, South Boston, was charged with felony obstructing justice-resisting arrest. He also was charged with four misdemeanor counts including speeding, eluding police, driving on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and failure to wear a seatbelt.

The offenses allegedly occurred Thursday, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrants Tuesday.

• Tyronza Lashae Coleman, 32, Reverend Coleman Road, Clover, was charged with felony vandalism-with damage to the property more than $1,000. She also was charged with misdemeanor trespassing.

The offenses allegedly occurred May 17, and Cpl. C. S. Yeatts served the warrants Monday night.

• Andrew Mark Lankford, 41, Guilltown Road, Clover, was charged with felony being a habitual offender.

The offense allegedly occurred March 7, and Cpl. Yeatts served the warrant Monday.

• Chris Orlando Rawlinson, 45, Davmunds Trail, Sutherlin, was charged with misdemeanor trespassing and misdemeanor vandalism-damaging property belonging to another person.

The offenses allegedly occurred Sunday, and Deputy S. W. Gilliam served the warrants that night.

• Christina Nicole Baker, 22, Paradise Road, Alton, was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery of a family or household member.

The offense allegedly occurred Sunday, and Deputy Gilliam served the warrant the same day.

• Vikki Green, 39, Jeffress Trail, Alton, was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery.

The offense allegedly occurred Sunday, and Sgt. D. H. Barksdale served the warrant that night.

• Hermajesty Moonlight Serrano, 34, Henderson Road, Roxboro, was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery.

The offense allegedly occurred Sunday, and Halifax Police Cpl. S. M. Comer served the warrant Monday.

• Aubrey Scott Rice, 24, Bessie Marion Trail, Halifax, was charged with misdemeanor DUI-second conviction within a five to 10 year period.

The offense allegedly occurred Sunday, and Deputy C. S. Hudson served the warrant the same day.

• Victor M. Sanchez, 26, W. Express Street, Elizabeth City, N.C., was charged with misdemeanor drunk in public.

The offense allegedly occurred Sunday, and Deputy Hudson served the warrant that night.
