Blaze Damages Home

Eight people were displaced Saturday when fire damaged a singlewide mobile home on Morton’s Ferry Road.

According to Triangle Volunteer Fire Department Lt. Robert Coblentz, Triangle volunteers responded to the mid-morning blaze at 2036 Morton’s Ferry Road, Nathalie for a report of a trailer on fire.

Approximately 12 firefighters from Triangle responded along with four trucks, Coblentz said.

When firefighters arrived on the scene there was heavy smoke was showing, he said, but firefighters were able to contain the blaze to a back bedroom of the trailer.

Liberty and Clover Volunteer Fire Departments also were dispatched to assist Triangle firefighters in bringing the blaze under control, Coblentz said.

Clover assisted with one fire truck and two firefighters, and Liberty assisted with two trucks and four firefighters, he added.
The origin of the fire is believed to have been electrical, Coblentz said.

Halifax - Charlotte County Red Cross Director Ginger Weaver said Sunday the Red Cross is assisting the family.
