SoBo Man Faces Multiple Drug Charges

A 19-year-old South Boston man is facing five felony drug counts and one misdemeanor count, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records. Willie Lorenzo Sweeney Jr. of Cassada Lane was charged with four felony counts of distribution of a controlled substance. He also was charged with one felony count of conspiring to possess a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of selling or distributing less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

The offenses allegedly occurred Feb.10-12 of last year, and Deputy S. W. Gilliam served the warrants Friday.

• Two Nathalie men and a Vernon Hill man were charged with two felony counts each relative to an incident that allegedly occurred June 8.

Jesse Lee Harrison, 23, Jennings Trail, Nathalie, Raymond Michael Kahler, 19, Leda Grove Road, Nathalie, and Daniel Lee Stollar, 20, Mountain Road, Vernon Hill, were each charged with one felony count of robbery and one felony count of felonious assault with intent to maim, kill, etc.

The offenses allegedly occurred June 8, and another law enforcement agency served the warrants on Harrison Monday. Deputy C. S. Hudson served the warrants on Kahler Saturday, and Cpl. P. C. Clayton served the warrants on Stollar Saturday.

•  Antoine Jerrod Scott, 29, Ponderosa Road, South Boston, was charged with two felony counts of check forgery and one felony count of obtaining $200 or more by false pretenses. He also was charged with misdemeanor vandalism of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor petty larceny.

The felony offenses allegedly occurred Dec. 2 of last year, and the misdemeanor offenses allegedly occurred Nov. 28. Cpl. Clayton served the warrants Saturday.

•  Tony Lee Puryear, 53, Watlington Drive, South Boston, was charged with one felony count of felonious assault with intent to maim or kill. He also was charged with misdemeanor brandishing a firearm.

The offenses allegedly occurred Tuesday, and Deputy J. M. Burton served the warrants that morning.

•  Natalie Nicole Payne, 20, L.P. Bailey Memorial Highway, Halifax, was charged with one felony count of obstructing justice-resisting arrest. She also was charged with one misdemeanor count each of assault and battery and assault and battery of a family or household member.

The offenses allegedly occurred July 9, and Sgt. T. C. Spencer served the warrants Monday morning.

•  Angela Denise Burns, 37, Eastover Drive, South Boston, was charged with felony obtaining $200 or more through false pretenses.

The offense allegedly occurred Dec. 19, 2008, and Deputy C. S. Hudson served the warrant Friday.

• Dorothy M. Ward, 39, Kings Highway, Drakes Branch, was charged with felony embezzlement of leased property valued at $200 or more.

The offense allegedly occurred Feb. 13, and another law enforcement agency served the warrant Saturday.

•  Staci Williams Epps, 37, Ball Park Loop, Halifax, was charged with misdemeanor obstruction of justice.

The offense allegedly occurred June 10, and Deputy T. B. Sargent served the warrant Saturday.

•   Derrick Devon Brown, 26, Ball Park Loop, Halifax, was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery. He also was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery of a family or household member.

The offenses allegedly occurred Thursday, and Cpl. Clayton served the warrants Sunday.

•   Brancho Danquez White, 37, Union Church Road, South Boston, was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery of a family or household member.
The offense allegedly occurred Saturday, and Deputy J. P. Adams served the warrant Sunday.

•   Barbara Barker Womack, 76, Pine Ridge Trail, Vernon Hill, was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery.

The offense allegedly occurred July 7, and Deputy Burton served the warrant Monday.

•   Freddie Wilmouth, 71, Newbill Trail, Scottsburg, was charged with misdemeanor trespassing.

The offense allegedly occurred Friday, and Cpl. C. S. Yeatts served the warrant Monday.

•   Alfred Kerry Jones, 39, Chestnut Road, Nathalie, was charged with misdemeanor petty larceny.

The offense allegedly occurred July 31 of last year, and another law enforcement agency served the warrant Friday.

•  Granville Steve Conner, 51, Love Shop Park Road, South Boston, was charged with misdemeanor drunk in public.

The offense allegedly occurred Sunday, and Deputy Adams served the warrant that night.

•   Danny Louis Perkins, 31, Love Shop Park Road, South Boston, was charged with misdemeanor drunk in public.
The offense allegedly occurred Friday, and Deputy C. A. Bates served the warrant that night.
