Brother Facing Murder Charge

A 25-year-old South Boston man accused of stabbing his brother in the head is now facing a first-degree murder charge.

On Monday, a Halifax County Grand Jury indicted Quincey Polk on the charge.

Inv. C. L. Carswell presented to the grand jury information surrounding the June 26 incident when officers from the South Boston Police Department responded to Westside Village Apartments and found Christopher Polk on the ground suffering from a stab wound.

When they arrived, the officers found Christopher Polk with a knife wound to the head lying near a walkway at the apartment complex, Carswell said.

EMS personnel transported Polk to Halifax Regional Hospital, and he was airlifted to Duke Medical Center where he later died.

At that time, his brother was arrested and charged with malicious wounding in connection with the incident.

He is currently being held in the Blue Ridge Adult Detention Center.

Christopher Polk’s body was taken to the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Chapel Hill for autopsy.
