Grand Jury Will Hear Evidence In Stabbing

A Halifax County Grand Jury will hear evidence pertaining to the death of 26-year-old Christopher Polk when it convenes on Monday, July 12, South Boston Police Investigator R. E. Redd said.

Inv. C. L. Carswell is scheduled to present to the grand jury information surrounding the June 26 incident when officers from the South Boston Police Department responded to Westside Village Apartments and found Christopher Polk on the ground suffering from a stab wound.

When they arrived, the officers found Christopher Polk with a knife wound to the head lying near a walkway at the apartment complex, Carswell said.

EMS personnel transported Polk to Halifax Regional Hospital, and he was airlifted to Duke Medical Center where he later died.

His brother, 25-year-old Quincy Keewan Polk, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding in connection with the June 26 incident.

He is currently being held in the Blue Ridge Adult Detention Center.

Christopher Polk’s body was taken to the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Chapel Hill for autopsy, Redd said.

Investigator Redd said additional charges against Quincy Polk are pending.
