Crusade Looks To Bring Hope To Halifax County

Dr. Mark Becton, pastor of Grove Avenue Baptist Church in Richmond, will be the featured speaker for a four-night “Bringing Hope To Halifax” Crusade to be held in the Halifax County High School auditorium Sunday through Wednesday beginning each night at 7:30. Sponsored by the Dan River Baptist Association, the countywide crusade’s goal is to reach the lost and encourage Christians, according to organizers.

Area churches of all denominations are being invited and urged to participate in the Christian event which will feature special music nightly by the 150-voice crusade choir.

From 7 to 7:30 p.m. each night,  special crusade music will be provided by the following groups:

Sunday night, billed as Family Night, will feature Saved By Grace.

Monday night, Friends Night,  will feature Ben and Linda Hughes.

Tuesday night, Youth Night, will feature Grace Baptist Praise Band.

Wednesday night, Pack The Auditorium Night, will feature Fork Baptist Bluegrass Band.

The guest speaker for the “Bringing Hope To Halifax” Crusade, Dr. Becton is described as “a man of prayer” and is no stranger to Halifax County having served as the guest speaker for last year’s National Day of Prayer service at the National Guard Armory.
