Man Injured In Stabbing On Monday

South Boston Police continue to search for a suspect in a Monday morning stabbing incident at a Seymour Drive motel.

South Boston Police Capt. B. K. Lovelace said officers were called to the Quality Inn at 11:47 a.m. for a report of a stabbing. He said the investigation revealed the incident began as a verbal altercation between an unidentified man and woman.

A second unidentified man in the room began arguing with the first male, and the two then began fighting, Lovelace said. The second man then allegedly stabbed the first man multiple times, the captain added.

EMS personnel transported the victim to Halifax Regional Hospital, Lovelace said.

The knife-wielding man fled the scene before officers arrived, the captain explained. A warrant charging malicious wounding has been issued, and officers were still looking for the suspect as of press time Tuesday.

Captain Lovelace requests anyone with information about this incident to contact the South Boston Police Department at 434-575-4271.
