Virgilina Man Faces Child Neglect, Firearms Charges

A 38-year-old Virgilina man faces a felony charge of child neglect stemming from an incident that is alleged to have occurred March 9, according to reports filed in the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Eric Eugene Beard of East Hitesburg Road also was charged with felony use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and misdemeanor reckless handling of a firearm, the report stated.
Deputy Q. W. Clark served the warrant on Tuesday.

In other sheriff’s office reports:

• Joanna Jordan Allred, 28, Lennig Road, Nathalie was charged with eight felony counts of forgery of a check.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred on April 21, 24, 26 and May 1, and Deputy S. M. Bowen served the warrant on Wednesday.

• Frisco Dale Crews, 23, of Lennig Road, Nathalie was charged with eight felony counts of forgery of a check.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred on April 21, 24, 26 and May 1, and Deputy C. S. Yeatts served the warrant on Wednesday.

Brandy Marie Justus, 21, of Bradley Creek Road, Nathalie was charged with a felony count of burglary and a misdemeanor count of petty larceny.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred on January 12, and Deputy Clark served the warrants on Tuesday.

• Timothy Lee Logan, 23, of Hilltop Motel, South Boston was charged with two misdemeanor counts of assault and battery.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred on May 3, and Deputy Yeatts served the warrant on Wednesday.

• Scottie Edwin Mayo, 43, of Cathy Sue Lane, South Boston was charged with a felony count of disregarding a police command.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on February 28, and another agency served the warrant on Tuesday.

• Luke B. Ferguson, 68, of Armistead Lane, Odessa, Florida was charged with a felony count of aggravated sexual assault.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on December 19, 2009, and Deputy P. C. Clayton served the warrant on Monday.

• Larry Wayne Fears Jr., 32, of Winns Creek Road, Halifax was charged with a felony count of fraudulent sell of a vehicle.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on April 26, and Deputy Clayton served the warrant on Tuesday.

• Pakita Lynn Dixon, 33, of Williams Street, South Boston was charged with a misdemeanor count of making threats over the telephone.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on Tuesday, and Deputy Yeatts served the warrant on Wednesday.

• Christopher Allen Stanley, 29, of Wagstaff Lane, Scottsburg was charged with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on Feb. 2, and Deputy Clark served the warrant on Tuesday.

• Vincent Morrell Williams, 41, of Bane Street, South Boston was charged with misdemeanor contempt of court.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on Jan. 14, and another agency served the warrant on Wednesday.

• Roy Preston Conner, 46, of Love Shop Road, South Boston was charged with misdemeanor drunk in public.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on Tuesday, and Deputy J. M. Burton served the warrant that same day.
