Saturday Show Going To The Dogs (And Families)

Have you ever seen a rescue dog at work? Everyone will have the opportunity to see them in action on Saturday at the former Wilson Memorial School in Vernon Hill as part of the Family Dog Day event, which will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

ATT Search and Rescue Dogs of VA Inc., a non-profit corporation of volunteers will be there with dogs that are training to the search and rescue standards of the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.  The K-9s will demonstrate how they search for lost persons.

In addition, contests will be held for attendees’ dogs to participate in, such as cutest dog, most obedient dog, best-dressed dog, and dog that looks most like its owner.
Owners also will have the chance to test their dog’s agility.

Admission is free, but donations are welcome and will benefit the humane society and ATT.

Hot dogs and drinks will be available, and prizes will be awarded.
