Police Arrest Virgilina Man In Buffalo Junction Armed Robbery

A 29-year-old Halifax County man and a 33-year-old Mecklenburg County man are being held on charges related to an armed robbery last month in Mecklenburg County, according to reports from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Michael Lee Whitlow of Virgilina and Woodson Brad Rice of Nelson were arrested and charged following an investigation of the April 10 robbery at the home of Edsil S. Murray of Tabernacle Road in the Buffalo Junction community, officials said.

Both men were charged with one count each of robbery. Each also was charged with one count of use or display of a firearm while in the commission of a felony, law enforcement officials said.

Whitlow is currently being held without bond in the Mecklenburg County Jail pending his July 7 court date in Mecklenburg General District Court.

Rice is being held without bond in the Halifax Adult Detention Center pending a June 6 court date in Mecklenburg County General District Court.
