Remembering King's Legacy

Halifax County Business and Professional Council officers and members  sponsored Sunday’s Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday celebration at First Baptist Church on Ferry Street.

Jeffress, Assistant Treasurer Helen H. Leigh, and members Stanley Brandon, Morris L. Bryant, Gara J. Chandler, William B. Claiborne, William E. Coleman, William J. Coleman, Mattie M. Cowan, Detrick J. Easley, Nakisha D. Easley, Cheryle D. Ferguson, William I. Fitzgerald, Marcus M. Hargrave, Stacey Y. Hargrave, Leon N. Johnson, Lealand D. Luck, Sharon E. Medley. Jermaine E. Richardson, Mashonda D. Richardson, Mikal Townsend, Rev. Wayne W. Wiley and honorary member Lazarus Bates. Rev. Frank E. Coleman, pastor-elect of First Baptist Church, was the guest speaker, and Spanish Grove Male Chorus rendered the music.
