Ed’s Inc. of South Boston will hold a “Blessing of the Bikes” benefit Saturday, April 20, and Saturday, April 27, to raise money for Gary and Janet Stevens, the family who lost their home and all their possessions in a March 5 fire.
Halifax County jobless rate drops in February

The jobs outlook in Halifax County brightened slightly in February, decreasing six-tenths of a percent from the 9.9 percent rate in January to 9.3 percent in February, according to the latest Virginia Employment Commission data released Friday.
Band gives new face to old music

Young duo shares lead in ‘Pirate’

In a move somewhat unusual in community theatre, Halifax County Little Theatre’s upcoming production of “How I Became a Pirate” will feature two actors in the lead role. Jake Carr and Easton Berry have been pegged to bring the lead role of Jeremy Jacob to life, with Berry being the understudy.
