After renovations, facility gearing up for new addition

In an effort to better serve the needs of people in the community, Commonwealth Assisted Living in South Boston recently has undergone numerous renovations to its existing building and is in the early stages of welcoming the addition of a new memory care unit to the facility.

Stonewall Jackson program coming to museum Friday

The South Boston/Halifax County Museum’s free program on Stonewall Jackson, postponed after last week’s bad weather, has been rescheduled for this Friday at 7 p.m. 

Open house to celebrate loft project completion

Construction of the New Brick Historic Lofts in South Boston is complete, and Rehab Development will host a ribbon cutting and open house celebration, which will include tours of the lofts, on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Free computer classes back

The Halifax County/South Boston Public Libraries began offering free computer classes in the summer of 2011, but unfortunately they came to a halt following the resignation of the former branch manager in August.
