The Man Who Saved Christmas:’ Love is in the Air

Think of all the things that make a musical great:  giant dance numbers, memorable songs, positive social values and of course a bit of romance. Halifax County Little Theatre’s latest production has them all, especially the romance. The play is a Virginia premiere of “The Man Who Saved Christmas” by Ron Lytle. 

Perfect attendance recognized

Halifax County Middle School recognized more than 500 perfect attendees for September during each lunch block.  It was a great opportunity to re-emphasize how good attendance helps students succeed in school and bolster their self-esteem.

The Halifax Village Association and the Town of Halifax will once again host “Halloween Trick-Or-Treat” in the town on Thursday, Oct. 31.  The action will begin at 5:30 p.m. and conclude at 7:30 p.m.  

South Boston Elementary teachers awarded $50 cards

A total of 20 teachers at South Boston Elementary School were awarded Tuesday with $50 reward cards to purchase classroom supplies to help students start the school year off right as part of their Teacher Rewards program, according to Sam’s Club Membership Manager Steve Chafatelli.
